How Can severe Seizure Be Treated?

Hi, my son is 15 months old. On Thursday morning he had a febrile seizure....Since that time we have controlled his fever but, he seems very agitated and has a loss of appetite to include taking in any fluids. Also, he is being very aggressive and agitated and not himself at all

Hi,

This type of seizures are called febrile seizures which are common in children between six months to five years and after that, it will resolve on its own. So you will have to watch your son for high fever.

If febrile seizures happen very often then the pediatrician may choose an intermittent or continuous anticonvulsant therapy.

Febrile seizures are normally nothing to worry about even though it can be frightening to see a child have one, particularly for the first time.

Your child will usually go back to normal activities soon after the seizure ends without further complications.
